Exchange 2007 has reached its End of Life! What is next?

As of April 11th 2017, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 has reached its last day. What does this mean? This means that there will be no more support for the product, fixes, patches or updates. This puts significant risk to any organization still using this version of Exchange.

So what now?

You have two options to choose from. You migrate your Exchange Server to the latest version, or migrate to Office 365 - Microsoft's cloud offering for email and Office applications.

The quickest and least difficult option is to migrate to Office 365. Most organizations chose this route.

If your organization requires an on-premise mail server, or you don't like the idea of a subscription-based model, then you must make a large investment in software and hardware in order to migrate to Exchange Server 2016. The upgrade path from 2007 to 2016 also requires significant expertise to perform.

Important Tip: If your Exchange Server is this old, your office applications are probably old versions as well. You will be required to upgrade them as well.

Streamline has assisted many organizations in successfully upgrading their on premise servers or migrating to Office 365. If we can help your company with this migration or you have any other questions, please contact us.
